Do You Have a Vision Plan?

"Write the vision, and make it plain on the tablets, so he may run who reads it" ~ Habakkuk 2:2

As we begin the first day of the New Year, I would like to encourage you to take a few moments to write down exactly what you would like to accomplish in 2013. Trust me when I tell you that this simple exercise can really produce some tangible fruit! Besides, "without vision, the people perish."

When we make vague New Year “resolutions” that we want to be happy, prosperous, healthy, and “in love,” what do we really mean?  Please know that God does not honor resolutions so if we plan to make things happen we must be specific while declaring and decreeing these things.

When I was just 12-yrs-old, I sat down and wrote a list (waaaaay before the days of typing on a personal computer or tablet device) of all the things I wanted to accomplish in life. This list included:

  • Get a Doberman Pinscher
  • Graduate from High School
  • Graduate from College
  • Own a Home
  •  Make at Least a Six-Figure Income
  • Get Married
  • Have Kids

Glory be to God all of the things that I listed on a single piece of paper at the wise old age of 12 have come to pass! Now at 47, my vision board now includes the following:

  • Give a Six-Figure Tithe to My Church
  • Make at Least One-Million Dollars Each Year
  • Introduce the World to Body, Mind & Spirit The Awakening
  • Become an Excellent: Christian, Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend
  • Show My Wife a Commitment and Love She Never Dreamed Was Possible
  • Be an Example of the Kind of Man My Nephews Can Emulate and My Daughter and Nieces Would Expect to Marry
  • Move into the Incredible $4.5M Estate at Creighton Farms That I’ve Already Walked Around and Claimed

Bottom line, if it had not been for the simple one-page list that a poor 12-yr-old country boy from Culpeper Va. that was raised in a small two-bedroom trailer-home sans indoor plumbing and running water, was bold enough to dream and accomplish, the idea of giving a six-figure tithe to his church would seem IMPOSSIBLE.

However!

I now know with every fiber of my being that, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”!
